Custom Flags Come in All Shapes and Sizes
When you ask the average person to envision a picture of a flag in their mind, they are likely to think of just one kind of flag—the national flag. In the United States, that means a rectangular-shaped flag that features the stars and stripes.
It’s true that here at The Flag Makers, we sell a ton of national flags, but we’re here to tell you that you have many more options than the standard flag you would fly on a pole.
The world of flags is huge! You can create custom flags in any design you can image, and you can print that design on any shape or size. With so many options, you can do a lot more than fly a flag on a pole. You can use a flag to decorate your garden, you can use flags to market your business, and there are even some flags that can be used as promotional products!
Here’s everything you need to know about the custom made flags from The Flag Makers.
Flags big and small
From the biggest of the big to the smallest of the small, we’ve got flags that are just the right size for you.
A flag banner is a great choice if you’re looking for an oversized flag. For example, our polyester mesh banners are great for hanging outside because the wind can blow through them. They are often used on metal parking and driving barriers by companies who want to do a little advertising.
If a polyester mesh banner isn’t quite what you had in mind, we can create traditional rectangular flags in any size you can imagine. We can even create those huge oversized flags you see being flown before the big football game!
Bigger isn’t always better. Smaller flag products are right at home when it comes to some applications. For example, hand flags should be small so they can be waved easily. Flag bunting looks great when hung from above since the flags aren’t large enough to interfere with foot traffic. Of course, promotional items, like car flags and scarfs, should be fairly small as well.
No matter what kind of impact you want to make, there’s a flag that’s the perfect size for you.
Straight and curvy shapes
It’s not just the size of your custom flags you should think about. You should also think about their shape. There’s a lot more out there than just rectangular flags!
For example, display banner flags can be purchased in a rectangular shape, but if you’re looking for something a bit more interesting, you can order banner flags in curvier shapes too.
All custom feather flags are curved at the top, which makes them more interesting than your basic rectangular flag, but they can be ordered with different bottoms. They include:
- Blunt bottom angle
- Curved convex bottom
- Curved concave bottom
- Square bottom angle
If you really like the curvy look, consider a teardrop flag! These flags are larger at the top and come to a point at the bottom of the flag, providing you with some unique design options.
Looking for something round? Consider a pop-up banner! There really are a lot of choices when it comes to the shape of your flags!
Single- and double-sided designs
When first looking for flag products, many people don’t realize they come in so many different shapes and sizes, but there’s something else you might not realize. Flags can be ordered in single and double-sided designs.
Most people don’t think twice about single-sided designs. After all, that’s how national flags are designed. The image shows through on reverse on the other side. That’s great for traditional designs and pictures, but it’s not so good for other designs.
For example, a logo or business name printed on one side of a flag will show throw back on the other side. With a double-sided design, it can be read the same from the front and back of the flag.
With double-sided designs as an option, why does anyone bother with a single-sided design? It’s important to keep in mind that double-sided designs are heavier than single-sided flags, which means they need a strong breeze in order to fly. They can also cost more than single-sided flags because they contain a lot more material.
